Sex & Intimacy

Nobody searches “mismatched sex drive” out loud. You type it quietly, usually after the other person is asleep. I know, because I read the search data, and because people tell me so in my office about a month after they’ve done it.

So here’s the quiet version. These articles answer the questions people are embarrassed to ask: why one of you wants sex more than the other and why that’s probably not what you think it is, what performance anxiety does to a body and how to interrupt it, how to talk about what you want without a script that sounds like a brochure, and what happens in sex therapy (you keep your clothes on; it’s talking).

There’s also a piece on what “certified sex therapist” means and why the training matters. Short version: anyone can put “sex” on a website. Certification takes years.

I’m Jill Frame, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and one of seven AASECT Certified Sex Therapists in Indianapolis. If you want to bring these questions to a person who won’t flinch, here’s how sex therapy works with me.
