Therapy Resources
for Real Life
Books, helpful reads, and a place to start when life gets complicated. You don’t have to be in therapy to find something useful here.
A little understanding can go a long way
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
Maybe you want to understand what’s happening before you call a therapist. Maybe you’re already in therapy and want something useful between sessions. Or maybe you’re the person with seventeen tabs open, trying to make sense of being human.
We get it. Here you’ll find books, articles, and ways to explore the support available at High Thrive Counseling.
Start where you are
What’s taking up the most space right now?
You don’t need a diagnosis or the perfect words. Pick the topic that sounds a little like your life.
Your relationship feels stuck.
The same argument. Different Tuesday. Or maybe you’re disconnected, recovering from betrayal, or unsure what comes next.
Sex has gotten complicated.
Different levels of desire. Difficult conversations. Feeling more like roommates than partners. You’re allowed to want help with this part, too.
The past feels awfully present.
Something happened, and you’re still trying to make sense of how it affects you. You don’t have to sort through it alone.
Your brain has other plans.
You have a to-do list. Your to-do list has a to-do list. And getting started still feels like an entire project.
Everything feels like a lot.
Maybe you’re worried, depleted, or having a hard time feeling like yourself. “I’m technically functioning” doesn’t mean you have to keep powering through.
Life doesn’t look like you expected.
A loss. A changing family. A new chapter you didn’t exactly volunteer for. There’s room to talk about what changed—and what you need now.
Good books. Useful conversations.
What’s on our bookshelves?
A book won’t replace therapy. But it can give you language for something you’ve been trying to explain for years.

One useful idea is a perfectly good start.
-
Notice what fits.
Pick one article or book that connects with what you’re experiencing.
-
Get curious.
What felt familiar? What brought up a question? What would you like to understand better?
-
Bring it into a conversation.
Share it with your therapist, or use it to explain what you’d like help with during a consultation.
Thinking about therapy?
You can start with “something isn’t working.”
You don’t need your whole story organized before reaching out. We can help you explore which therapist, service, or format may fit.
Find your person.
Our therapists bring different specialties, personalities, and approaches. Learn a little about the humans behind the credentials.
